The Service Provided
Each week on a Thursday evening a team of volunteers select articles from the West Sussex County Times that are then edited. Another team records these edited news items, another sorts the returned memory sticks and yet another team records the "Magazine" which is a miscellany of items such as interviews, cookery, gardening, stories, shopping information and listeners' comments.
On Friday morning yet another team copies the required number of memory sticks - currently about 135 in total - using fastcopiers. They pack the memory sticks into wallets which are sent free through the post under a concession from the Royal Mail.
This service is provided free of charge with the entire operation being run by approximately 50 volunteers. Funds to run the Charity are raised through various activities such as street collections as well as from donations and grants.
